When we were planning to build a new nave, we saw a need for a unique identity that would help us stand out from other congregations. It was decided that this unique identity would be to proclaim the Gospel through the arts, music in particular.
Today, we have one of the finest music chambers in the Mid-south, and we worship with an organ and chamber that have been carefully voiced and designed in acoustic unison. Because ours is one of the few organs of its kind in the region, we have attracted world-class musicians and singers, and their work in our church has been heard across the nation. Our reputation in the musical community is unparalleled and unique.
We have a talented music director who helps us proclaim the Gospel through music.
We have a pipe organ manufactured by the Martin Ott Pipe Organ Company, Inc. It is a tracker- or mechanical-action organ.
The design of the case and the scaling of the pipes were developed in accordance with the architecture, size, and the acoustics of the room in which our organ is located. Our pipe organ has a clear and full sound, well suited for congregational singing, choral accompaniment, and organ recitals.
A Zimbelstern was recently added to our organ, as a memorial to a former choir member.
